Four Year Old Program

We offer one session for our four year old students.

Four Year Old Session: Monday, Wednesday & Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Students must turn four on or before December 1, 2024, to be eligible for our four year old program for the 2024-25 school year.

Our program for four year old students explores pre-reading and pre-math skills while advancing small and gross motor skills. An introduction to science is explored in our science center. Our kindergarten readiness activities include:

• Alphabet recognition (early reading)
• Number recognition (early math skills)
• Sequence and pattern recognition
• Introduction to printing
• Art projects
• Library day
• Gym day
• Show-n-tell
• Field trips

The four year old students also have annual events family and friends can attend. The Thanksgiving Play teaches us about the Pilgrims and Native Americans. They will learn about artists such as Monet, Van Gogh and Picasso while preparing for the Art Show. The Mother's Day Special celebrates Mother's Day, while the Dad's PJ Party is a great opportunity for dads to share a special evening with their little one.

Lake Shore Cooperative Nursery School holds in-house registration for current and past members during the end of January each school year. Registration for the public is offered through an Open House followed by online registration held on the first or second Saturday of February. Families are welcome to visit our classroom and meeet our teachers anytime during the Open House. Families will then officially register online after the Open House. To register, you will click on the link on our registration page. Once your registration is received and processed, you will be notified if your student has a confirmed spot or if they are on our waiting list. After a spot is confirmed, you will fill out a registration application for your student and include a one-time registration fee. This fee is for new students registering for an available spot (there is no fee for our waiting lists) and is non-refundable.

After the conclusion of our winter registration process, we will continue to accept new students until our classes are filled.

Tuition for our four year old program is $1,960 yearly, which can be paid in 10 payments of $196 per month (payment #1 is a commitment fee due on 6/1/24, followed by nine additional payments due on the first of each month from September through May).

If you wish to withdraw your child from our program, a 30 day notice is required.

Four year old students will need to be prepared for class each day with the following:

• Backpack with zippered front pocket in addition to the main compartment
• Lunch box or brown bag with packed lunch each day
• Mid morning snack container or ziploc bag with packed snack each day
• Water bottle with secure, yet easy open top/spout that child can maneuver independently 
• Sneakers and comfortable athletic clothing for gym day (last Thursday of each month)
• Change of clothes (brought on the first day of school in a ziploc bag with student's name on it; remains in classroom)
• There will be a small number of basic school supplies that students will bring in on our classroom preview day or the first day of school that will remain in the classroom
